To Shoot or Not to Shoot

I shoot arrows, mess around in the garden, feed the birds and walk the hills.

The Tiger's Wife: A Novel

The Tiger's Wife - Téa Obreht This rates more than 3 stars. The story was interesting, the ideas also, the characters well drawn, the structure good. Should have made 4 stars but somehow the writing did not quite flow. If this is the first book the author has published then I want more..... I think they will just get better and better. I loved entering into fragments of the Balkans - the woman, her grandfather, her friend, her village, her town, her and her grandfather's stories. I've always felt the same importance of stories shared with friends and family, reinforcing the sense of who we are, who we are not, defining us but allowing us the power to choose and sift and add to our own stories.
